The Office of the College Registrar is pleased to inform you that the
Walk-In Application schedule for Latin and Academic Honors as of December
2024 is now OPEN. The deadline for submission is October 25, 2024.
*QUALIFICATIONS FOR LATIN AND ACADEMIC HONORS, SECOND SEMESTER OF THE
ACADEMIC YEAR, 2022-2023 and preceding semesters."
a) Summa Cum Laude – conferred to graduates with a general weighted
average (GWA) of 97% –100% including Physical Education and NSTP,
with no grade lower than 85%.
b) Magna Cum Laude – conferred to graduates with a general weighted
average (GWA) of 91% - 96% including Physical Education and NSTP/ROTC, with
no grade lower than 82%.
c) Cum Laude - conferred to graduates with a general weighted average (GWA)
of 88% – 90% including Physical Education and NSTP/ROTC, with no
grade below 80%.
d) Academic Distinctions – conferred to graduates with a general
weighted average (GWA) of 87% – 88% including Physical Education and
NSTP/ROTC, with no failing grade or dropped.
e) Proficiency Award – an award given to the graduating students who
qualify to the guidelines set forth by the Institute Dean in their
respective field of specialization.

the academic year 2023-2024.
a) Summa Cum Laude – conferred to graduates with general weighted
average (GWA) of 97% – 100% in all courses excluding NSTP/ROTC, with
no grade lower than 85%.
b) Magna Cum Laude – conferred to graduates with general weighted
average (GWA) of 94% - 96% in all courses excluding NSTP/ROTC, with no
grade lower than 85%.
c) Cum Laude - conferred to graduates with general weighted average (GWA)
of 91% – 93% in all courses excluding NSTP/ROTC, with no grade below
85%.
d) With Academic Distinctions – given to graduates with general
weighted average (GWA) of 88% – 90% in all courses excluding
NSTP/ROTC, with no grade below 85%.
Proficiency Award – an award given to the graduating students who
qualify to the guidelines set forth by the Institute Dean in their
respective field of specialization.
Note: Only students who have studied at TCGC for at least 2 years are
eligible for the distinction of Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum
Laude.
